In York there are many places where you can enjoy a good meal and some good drinks. We have tried a few places and can recommend some of them. Firstly one of the most visited places in York is The Shambles (The Shambles York | Plan your visit to the oldest street in York), the oldest street in York where you can find many different shops, and behind The Shambles there is the food market where to eat food during the daytime in the City Centre. In the market there is a wide variety of international and traditional cuisine to choose from.
In York there are plenty of restaurants, listed on Tripadvisor, check THE 10 BEST Restaurants & Places to Eat in York 2021 – Tripadvisor, you can also find traditional pubs in every street corner, where you can taste very nice traditional British food.
We have personally tried a few of them and can recommend the Golden Fleece, Cresci Pizzeria, Pizzoli, the Hop, Sapori (all located in or very close to The Shambles).
